The Mario Lanza Institute is sorry to announce the passing of President Emeritus Mary G. Papola on December 14, 2011. Mrs. Papola served in various capacities for many years promoting Mario Lanza and the Institute and museum. She was known for her charming and warm personality and hospitality often extending herself especially for Lanza's fans. Mrs. Papola was beloved and will be missed. May she always walk with God.

The viewing will be at Baldi Funeral Home (1331 S Broad St in Philadelphia) on Saturday December 17, 2011 from 10:00am-11:00am.

The funeral Mass will take place at the Annunciation Church (1511 S 10th St in Philadelphia) at 11:30am.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Mrs. Papola's name to the Mario Lanza Institute PO Box 54624 Philadelphia, PA 19148

This site has been a long time coming and it will grow with time.  There are many who do not know that there is an organization such as ours.  It is our desire to bring the richness of Mario's voice to as many people as possible.  The site will tell you what we do, where we are and our main purpose for existence. Hopefully you will join us in bringing the magic of Mario Lanza to new generations.  Truly the man and his voice are one of a kind.
