1947 Hollywood Bowl Concert - ON ORDER (Andromeda) with Frances Yeend soprano, Eugene Ormandy conductor. Complete historic concert including solos for Yeend and the Orchestra. Arias and duets from L'Elisir D'Amore, Andrea Chenier, Tosca, Madama Butterfly, La Boheme, La Traviata, and Der Freischutz as well as music by Bach, Mendelssohn, Mozart, and Strauss. DLP 2206: Serenade: Highlights from the film soundtrack taken from the original studio master tape in excellent sound. Includes the unreleased first take of "Nessun dorma" as well as slate and take number introductions to several of the sound tracks. Mario can also be heard clearing his throat and speaking briefly.

The CD features the newly discovered introduction to the "Student Prince Serenade" by Mario and a variety of love songs in English, Italian, and Spanish, operetta and Broadway favorites, and the spectacular English language version of "La donna e mobile." All selections are in improved sound and taken from the original recordings before the audience applause track was added.)
